Thankful November

I have seen a couple of my friends start doing this and although I am a couple days into November I want to jump on the train.  Instead of just being thankful on Thanksgiving I am going to list something I am thankful for everyday during November.  Watch for my list on the sidebar.  Happy November everyone!

Halloween

Halloween was such a blast.  We had two fun filled days of celebration!

Friday was the Palmer's annual Halloween Party.  We had tons of good food, fun games, decorations, and great costumes.  Jack was amazed by the glow sticks and stared at them for probably an hour.  He also enjoyed the food and family.

Spooky Decorations

Yummy Food!

Great Costumes

Saturday was full of events too.  We went to Blackfoot to visit Grandma and Grandpa Hansen.  Jack got some yummy gummy life savers and a green pumpkin flashlight which he was facinated with.

That night we went to our Trunk or Treat.  It was fun to see all the kids dressed up.  Jack hung out in the trunk most of the time and he just smiled and jabbered at everyone passing him by.  He also got his first taste of a sucker and was not too happy when I took it away shortly after.

All in all Jack's first Halloween was lots of fun.  We can't wait until next year to do it all over again!

Pumpkins

So I got this email today.  You know one of those forwards that you read when you have a few extra minutes?  Well I read this one today and I loved it so much and wanted to share it with you!

A woman was asked by a coworker, 'What is it like to be a Christian?'

The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.'God picks you from the patch, brings you in, washes all the dirt off of you.  Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.  He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed.  Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

This was such a slap in the face to me for some reason!
It's time to let my light shine again!
Not that it's been out but it probably hasn't been as bright as it should be.  I am so blessed and I always need to remember that!

Big Ferocious Lions

ROAR!!!!!

I was SO excited to have Jack's Halloween Pictures taken by Caralee Case!  I seriously couldn't wait!

I searched everywhere for the perfect costume but it was a struggle.  I didn't really want to spend 50 bucks on a Halloween costume but I was NOT impresses with the selection at Wal-Mart either.

So I broke down and got my seamstress on!  I took a picture of the $50 costume that I loved and I went to JoAnn's.  We bought fleece, felt, thread, elastic, and a few other things.  I started his costume two weeks before we were set to get pictures taken.  I was in a panic worried that I wouldn't get it done it time but after two body suits and two sets of booties later we came up with this!

I absolutely love it!
He looked so cute with is big giant main all around his chubby cheeks.
He was so good during pictures and Caralee was AMAZING!  She was so good with him and quick!  We got all these adorable shots in about 5 minutes!  I am so happy we have these to cherish forever (although Jack might not be to happy in about 18 years! - but you better believe this is one I am definitely going to show the girlfriends)

Thank you soooo much Caralee!

I am so in love with these pictures!

Now the countdown to Halloween is on so I can dress him all up and parade him around town!

The Hazards of Crawling

Jack turned 8 months on Monday. Time is going too quickly! He is growing, learning, and changing every single day. He is still a little munchkin for his age! He is still mostly wearing 3-6 month clothes. Some of his 6-9 month clothes fit but not many. He loves to click his tongue. He has become a terrible sleeper! I am still blaming teething and his poor gums have to be so sore. Add VideoThey are totally swollen and pushed up and I just keep thinking any day he should be getting a tooth - poor guy! He is also a total blanket boy. He won't take a pacifier but to fall asleep he often sucks on his blanket. He has also decided he is done with bottles. We have completely transitioned to soft top sippy cups. He also is quite adorable in the middle of the night and he whispers. His little quiet jabbers always make me smile in the middle of the night.

Jack has been scooting and crawling for a while now but since he really started crawling and he has got himself into a few predicaments. I often hear the dogs whining because Jack has taken their toys (heaven forbid he play with is own toys!). He is quite proud of himself. I love that he can come to me now if he wants to be held. It's fun to have him crawl to me. He loves to explore and it isn't always what he expects. He is always finding something new to crawl in or some small place to squeeze between.

This was the funniest thing ever and instead of being sincere and rescuing my poor stuck baby I had to snap some pictures first! He crawled under the end table and then got really frustrate that he couldn't lift his head up. He was trying to so hard to look up at me and I think try to find a way out.

He finally figured out to turn his head sideways. But then ....

He must have though sitting up would be easier then putting his head up. He totally wedged himself in the end table. I finally caved and rescued my poor screaming, crying baby.

He is also moving on quickly from crawling and sitting up on his own to pulling himself up on anything he can reach. He has had a couple face plants already but they never seem to deter him from working on it again!
( I also swear he wasn't trying to poop although he really sounds like it! LOL)
